Who we are…
Lake View Coons is a TICA & CFA registered Maine Coon Cattery located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, overlooking Lake Robinson, in Greenville County South Carolina. A husband and wife team, our priority is to raise healthy, well-socialized Maine Coons that conform to the written breed standard.
We believe that continuing feline husbandry and genetics education, and being actively involved in exhibition is an important part in maintaining a high quality breeding program.
The cattery is not a source of income for our family. We do this as a hobby because we love the breed and enjoy showing our cats. Our goal is not to sell as many kittens as possible or for large profits, but to contribute to the work of preserving the breed.
We only produce a handful of litters each year; therefore, we do not keep waitlists or accept deposits for kittens not yet born. Our goal is to select the very best FURever home for each and every kitten we place.
While all of our breeding cats live in our home as spoiled pets, and kittens are raised underfoot, for the health and safety of our existing cats, intact males live separately from our intact females. And, pregnant queens are given their own private space for labor, delivery, and the early weeks leading up to kittens’ first vet appointment(s).
Most importantly, all new breeding kings and queens are quarantined and undergo fecal and upper respiratory PCR lab work before being introduced to our clowder and extensive health screening before entering our breeding program.
In an effort to be transparent, registration certificates, pedigree information, and all health screening results for our active breeding cats can be viewed on our website. Genetic testing is performed via Wisdom Panel, and Advanced Cardiac & Hip Grading is performed via Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).
We have a written contract which includes a 2 year genetic health guarantee AND a 2 year FIP guarantee.
