Since we are half way through the calendar year and already well into summer, I thought it only appropriate to share some Cattery News with our Lake View Coons friends and family, including the highly anticipated announcement regarding AVAILABLE KITTENS! But first, I wanted to officially announce our regional awards earned in the 2021-2022 show season.
TICA’s SE Region Awards of Excellence
We are humbled and honored to announce that both Orion and Uno earned regional awards this past show season. Being that we consider ourselves still somewhat new to showing, these awards came as a BIG surprise.
Our Quadruple Grand Champion IAU Orion’s Hunt StarArk was awarded a Regional Win and corresponding title for being the 24th Best Long Hair Cat, and the Best Silver Mackerel Maine Coon Cat in TICA’s South East Region.
LakeViewCoons Humble Beginnings Uno was recognized as the 2nd Best Polydactyl Maine Coon Cat, and the Best Black Smoke with White Polydactyl Maine Coon Cat in TICA’s South East Region.
We can’t say, “THANK YOU!” enough to all of the TICA judges who recognized Orion and Uno in their rings during the 2021-2022 show season, and a BIG CONGRATS to our fellow Regional, International, Lifetime Achievement, and Outstanding Sire/Dam award winners!
Future Queens’ Health Screening Results
As some of you may have already noticed, we recently updated the QUEENS page of our website to reflect our retired, active, and future queens. We also updated our newest breeding girls’ profile with their genetic test results, and most recent OFA Advanced Cardiac Screening and OFA Preliminary Hip Screening results. Because we value transparency, these results can be found for each of our breeding cats on their corresponding profile pages. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out those recent updates.
Introducing, LakeView Coons Luna Nera!
With the birth of our Spring litter, we are excited to announce our most recent keeper: LakeViewCoons Luna Nera, our future queen! This beautiful black smoke girl has the best personality. She is super affectionate, equally vocal and intelligent, and shows a lot of promise with conformation. Luna is the daughter to Setareh and Mando, which is by far one of our most favorite pairings to date. Setareh’s pedigree brings genetic diversity to the lines we are working with, and Mando never fails to produce kittens with the most amazing temperament! Pending favorable genetic, cardiac, and orthopedic health screening results, we hope to add this gorgeous girl to our breeding program in 2023.
Our Recent Loss
The life of a breeder can be so hard, and I know many our fellow breeders who are following our breeding journey can relate. We always preface our breeding plans with “nature wiling” and this is an example as to why. One of our queens who is also a first time momma was due to have a litter of kittens this weekend, the Summer pairing many of you were looking forward to, but sadly she delivered over a week early. And, despite our best efforts, all four of her kittens didn’t make it.
As I’m sure you can imagine, the days following this loss were incredibly difficult for us. Momma cat is doing well considering, but you can tell she’s affected by the loss too. If you follow us on social media, you’ve already heard the news and we just wanted to say thanks again from the bottom of our hearts for all the wonderfully kind and thoughtful messages that were sent.
Adoption Applications
On a lighter note, we wanted to announce that we will be opening up our adoption application process this coming weekend. Because we received such an overwhelming response with our last wave of applicants, we’ve also decided to limit the submissions to a 12 hour window which will take place on Saturday, July 9th between 8am to 8pm (Eastern Time).
For those who are not already aware of how our cattery’s reservation process works, we always reserve first pick for our Cattery, and then after that to the few breeders we are closely networked with and trust. Next, we give priority to our immediate family and then to our current Lake View Coons family. We also prioritize approved applicants who express an interest in adopting siblings.

Available Kittens
With that being said, there are three kittens in this litter that will be made available this coming Saturday: Silver Lining, Ancient Skies, and Europa’s Secret.
Silver Lining is a black silver classic tabby male with a gentle and sweet personality. He is one of the first to come running to us when we enter a room and can often be found cuddled up in one of our laps. S.L. has been socialized alongside our Great Dane dog and has done wonderful when our young nieces visit. He would do well in a house with young kids and with dogs that have been raised to respect the presence of cats.
Ancient Skies is a black silver classic torbie female. Sky is one of our more quiet and reserved kittens who prefers to sit back and observe for a bit before joining in with her sibling’s shenanigans. She tolerates our dog and has done well when children visit, but she definitely needs a home where her new owners appreciate her independent and at times, more timid personality. Sky is currently the type to follow you from room to room to see what you are up to and will vocalize to you when she wants something, but to date she has not shown signs of being much of a lap cat.
Europa’s Seret is a black silver classic tabby female with white. After you give her a moment to settle in and familiarize herself with new people and experiences, Opa is our spunky wild child with a hint of sass. She has a motorboat sounding purr and is a huge cuddle bug. Often times, she will seek us out to nap on our lap. She has done great with visitors, including young children and like S.L. she tolerates our Great Dane dog.
Future Pairings
Nature wiling, we hope to have three more pairings to announce later this year. Dagmar will be paired with Mando in the late summer / early fall, and Twisted Fate and Anchored Hope will be paired with our Regional Winner and Quadruple Grand Champion, Orion, in the late fall / early winter. Once these matings are confirmed successful we will update our KITTENS page accordingly, so be sure to check back for updates!
