The summer is winding down and in just a few short weeks the Fall season will be upon us. We thought it only appropriate to share some Cattery News with our Lake View Coons friends and family, including the highly anticipated announcement relating to our upcoming adoption application process!
Titles Earned
For those of you who are caught up with reading our social media and show related blog posts, you may have already heard, but for those of you who are new to our breeding and showing journey, I wanted to quickly summarize some of the end of year Regional and International Awards of Excellence we earned with the conclusion of the 2022-2023 show season.
LakeViewCoons Twisted Fate (aka “BLUE”) earned TICA’s SE Award of Excellence for 3rd Best Maine Coon Polydactyl Kitten of the Year!
Champion LakeViewCoons Bella Luna Nera was awarded TICA’s SE Region Award of excellence for 2nd Best Black Smoke Maine Coon of the Year.
Grand Champion LakeViewCoons Anchored Hope was awarded TICA’s International Award of excellence for 2nd Best Black Smoke Maine Coon of the Year AND TICA’s SE Region Award of excellence for Best Black Smoke Maine Coon of the Year.
Health Screening Results
We are pleased to announce that our future queen, LakeViewCoons Ryder on the Storm, and our future king, MasterWeaver All Things Held MWPP (aka “PANTHER”) recently received their Wisdom Panel genetic test results, both of which came back clear. Ryder will be turning a year old next month, and will be undergoing her OFA Advanced Cardiac Screening which is scheduled for September 28th.
With that being said, once Ryder and Panther have officially entered our breeding program, we will update the QUEENS and KINGS tab of our website to include their individual profiles. These updates are a work in progress, but once watermarked and redacted, the health screening results for each of them will be published as well.
Adoption Applications
As a reminder, and for those not already familiar with our adoption application process:
When reserving kittens, we always give first pick to our Cattery, and then after that to the few breeders we are closely networked with and trust. Next, we give priority to our immediate family and then to our current Lake View Coons family. We also try to prioritize approved applicants who express an interest in showing and/or who express an interest in adopting a sibling pair (that is, assuming we have kittens with show potential and/or a sibling pair that would do well going home together and with the family that expresses an interest).
Interested individuals need to submit an application with each litter.
We do not keep past applications on file.
When adoption applications are scheduled to open, no early OR late entries are accepted or considered.
We do not keep a waitlist, we do not accept deposits for kittens not yet born, and our digital adoption application form is only made visible to our website for a limited time.
Since we typically receive such an overwhelming response to our available kittens, we limit the submission of applications to a 24-48 hour window.
That being said, we plan to open up our adoption applications to the public beginning on Saturday, September 2nd at 8 AM Eastern Time and ending on Sunday, September 3rd at 8 PM Eastern.
We will review applications Sunday evening and on Monday we hope to begin making calls to those selected for the next phase of our reservation process, the phone interview. Our goal is to have our final decisions made before the end of the long Labor Day weekend.
All kittens, including our older kitten named Calypso (whose parents are both titled), are priced at $3000 USD.
After our contract is reviewed and signed, we will send a digital invoice via PayPal Business. If you are selected to reserve one of our available kittens, payment will need to be made in full by September 6th. Scheduled pick up times for kittens will be coordinated for the following weekend.
If you are unable to physically meet us at our cattery to pick up your kitten on either Saturday, September 9th or Sunday, September 10th, please hold off on submitting an application until a future litter.

Planned Pairings
We are probably most excited to announce the arrival of our most recent litter and our future planned pairings!
RW QGC IAU Orion’s Hunt StarArk and LakeViewCoons Twisted Fate (aka “BLUE”) welcomed three beautiful kittens into the world on July 15th. There’s two girls and one boy in the litter. The two girls are Hemingway polydactyls like their mom. The boy has standard paws like his father. All three kittens are silver/smoke. We have a black silver classic tabby female, a black smoke with white female, and a black smoke with white male. We hope to begin sharing this litter’s updated photos to the KITTENS tab of our website and to social media in the near future.
Orion and Blue’s kittens will be spay/neutered on October 6th. Assuming all goes well between now and then, we hope to open up adoption applications for them on October 7th, with kitten’s tentative go-home dates set for the following weekend.
As for our upcoming plans for this Fall / Winter, RW QGC IAU Orion’s Hunt StarArk and Queen Alya were paired last month and are expecting kittens the first week of October. MALE kittens in this litter could be red tabby, red silver tabby, black silver tabby, or brown (black) tabby. FEMALE kittens in this litter could be black silver tabby, black silver torbie, brown (black) tabby, or brown (black) torbie. Because Orion is a mackerel tabby and carries the classic tabby pattern, kittens could have classic, mackerel, shaded, or chinchilla coats.
If all goes according to plan, kittens from this litter will have tentative go-home dates set for the first or second weekend of January 2024. More details relating to this litter will be published once the litter is born and we have a chance to properly evaluate the litter for breed and show potential. Because one of the parents of this litter has earned championship titles, altered pets and altered show kittens will be priced at $3500 USD.
Future Vision
Last and certainly not least, we’d like to officially introduce to you our recent “keeper” and possible future queen, LakeViewCoons Morning Skye. We call her Patches at home. This girl caught our eye from day one and we are super excited at the opportunity to watch her mature and grow. Assuming she continues to develop in a way that would help us to further our cattery breeding and showing goals, we hope to pair this stunning girl with our future king, Panther, next Summer.
