My husband and I had such a great time at TICA’s “Another Summer Celebration” show this past weekend, hosted by the North Alabama Feline Fanciers (NAFF). We attended with two of our future queen, affectionately called Blurry & Blue (registered as LakeViewCoons Anchored Hope & LakeViewCoons Twisted Fate).
While both girls have tagged along to shows with our boy, RW QGC IAU Orion’s Hunt StarArk (as exhibition only back when they were just 3 months old), this was the first show either of the siblings have entered and competed in.
Blurry seemed to enjoy showing more than Blue, which was surprising because Blue is usually the more outgoing one here at home. We got some really great feedback and even some helpful, constructive criticism (we always make it a point to ask) from one of the more senior judges who final’d Blurry. I was especially thankful for this specific feedback being that it came from a judge who also bred Maine Coons for decades before retiring.
All in all it was a great weekend, and a enjoyable first show (for us) of the 2022-2023 show season. Blurry finished four times, including one specialty ring, and Blue finished once. There were two other gorgeous silver Maine Coons kittens from well known and respected catteries in attendance, so we were extra grateful for the honor to final at all, and thankful to the judges that recognized our girls.
Here is a breakdown of the girl’s ring results:
