Southern Aristocats: Dancing into 2022

TICA’s Southern Aristocats Club hosted an Allbreed Cat Show in Temple Georgia over the Holiday weekend, and thanks to all the hard work of the volunteers who made this event possible, we had the opportunity to bring in the New Year with some of our cat fancy friends.

Since our brown (black) torbie girl, LakeViewCoons Stormy Nite, had just turned 4 months of age, we decided to try our luck with entering both her and Orion. Both cats did well with traveling and staying in the hotel, but since it was Storm’s first time attending a show, she seemed to have a tougher time acclimating to the sights and sounds of the unfamiliar venue, especially on the first day.

By the middle of the second day, Storm began to warm up to the judges, but she also started to become a bit of a complainer and let out a few grumbles and hisses as she was being handled and evaluated. It may be too soon to say for sure, but we suspect that showing may not be in the cards for this girl.

On a positive note, a few of the judges had some really nice things to say about Storm. We were encouraged not to give up on her, and given some pointers on how to get her more comfortable for her next show.

The highlight of the weekend was when Orion made another Allbreed final, and with it he qualifies for his Triple Grand Champion title.
