I’ve been following the breeding work of Malin Sundqvist of Dagdrivarn since the inception of our cattery and truly admire her views on proper health screening and working with diversified pedigree lines. Malin has been breeding Maine Coons since 2006 and Cornish Rex since 1998. She actively supports the breeding community by hosting seminars on topics such as the PawPeds Health Program, Outcross and New Foundation breeding work, the history of the Maine Coon “Clones”, feline genetics, breeding for beginners, and other Maine Coon specific courses. Malin created the online resource called “Maine Coon Education” and helps to maintain the PawPeds Pedigree Database and the Maine Coon Heritage Site. She is also the president and studbook keeper in Foreningen Goteborgskatten, an Independent Club in Sweden.

Dagdrivarn Diksi Delila
Diksi is a black (brown) classic tabby. She has a nice rectangular body and great shape to her head. Diksi turned a year old in October and has already undergone her OFA Advanced Cardiac with echocardiogram and OFA preliminary hip grading. She officially entered our breeding program in November and was bred with our stud Panther. They are expecting their first litter together this month. Diksi is the most lady-like and elegant of our queens. She has the sweetest expression and personality to match. She never picks fights with our younger girls and is incredibly loving and gentle. She has the tiniest, cutest little meow and loves to climb up into her people’s laps. I just love her unique pedigree and over-the-top affectionate temperament.

Dagdrivarn Katie Kitbitz
KitKat (our nickname for Katie) is a blue silver classic tabby. She has a lovely broad build and fantastic profile. KitKat turns a year old in February and is quite literally the goofiest girl we have ever owned. She marches to the beat of her own drum and is constantly causing mischief — Of course, only in the cutest and most innocent of ways. Beware if you are in the same room with her and make eye contact. She will immediately run over to you and try to climb you to get into your lap. And, she does NOT take no for an answer. Even if that means climbing up your back to perch on your shoulders. I swear she is an orange cat at heart (if you know, you know, hahaha)!

We have had some really sweet and cuddly girls in our cattery over the last five years, but I have never met a pair of female felines with so much love to give as Diksi and KitKat. We jokingly refer to them as our “velcro kitties” and are looking forward to their incredible personalities being passed down to their future offspring. Here’s to the future journey we will be taking with these two beautiful queens!
